Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation


When I was pregnant I had a few problem with my skin. Some days I would wake up with dry soare skin, other days really oily skin. At the time I was using Nars Sheer Glow and Mac face and body but for some reason neither foundation would last long on my face. I'd never had this problem before with either foundations, I'd always loved both of them and they had always lasted amazingly on my skin. 
I googled "foundations for pregnancy skin" and found quite a few different reviews about Estee Lauder Double Wear. I read how it lasted all day for both oily and dry skin so I gave it a go!  

This has become my HG foundation. To sum it up its medium - full coverage, long lasting, looks flawless, great for all skin types, an overall excellent foundation!  

I tried applying this foundation with a buffing brush, foundation brush, sponge and ended up finding it best to apply with my hands. After I got the application right I found it sat on my skin flawlessly and the lasting power is just incredible. 
This foundation is £31, one bottle lasts for months because its medium- high coverage so you only need a tiny amount each time.

I really recommend giving it a try!

Are Fitbits worth the money?

 

Absolutely!

I lost over 2 stone of baby weight when I got mine! 

It is the only piece of fitness I've ever stuck too! 

The challenges are completely addicting, it's so nice being able to use it along with friends! It's so motivating to get your move on!  I have a problem with being competitive and when I first discovered the challenges I did a 2-3 mile walk every morning so I had done my 10 thousand steps straight away before any general walking around! I lost 8lb in the first 3 weeks of having it and then the rest from there! 

I also find with walking every part of my body tones up, so even if you are not looking to loose weight it motivates you to stay healthy. 

Another interesting feature of the Fitbit is the sleep tracker. It was particularly interesting when having a newborn baby to see how little sleep I was getting! 

I've been really pleased with mine and absolutely think they are worth the money:)

Backpacking Photos



All I have ever really wanted to do is travel. When I was 18 I went backpacking for just over a year with my one of my friends, we went to Australia via LA and home via Thailand. 
We spent the first 2-3 months traveling the east coast of Australia. It was an amazing experience we went sky diving, scuba diving, met Harold Bishop, spent Christmas in Cairns, new years in Sydney, ate too much, drank too much! After traveling the east coast we took the train from Sydney over to Perth and then spent the next 3 months working in Shark Bay and we volunteered at the Monkey Mia wild dolphin resort. 


After working in Monkey Mia I spent some time in Perth and then ended up back in Brisbane for a few months and then eventually travelled the East Coast again while working!

There are not many chances throughout your life where you can just pack a bag and head off around the world. It is amazing seeing new places and really experiencing a different way of life.

It is so nice looking back on these backpacking photos and the photos of various trips throughout the years. I feel lucky to have such lovely memories!

Mexican Bean Bowl


I thought I would share our favourite dinner at the moment 'Mexican Bean Bowl'

It's quick to make, pretty healthy and absolutely delicious!

Ingredients

2 x Cans of Black Beans 
1 x Red Onion
2 x Cloves of Garlic 
Sour Cream 
Butter
Parmasen Cheese 
3 x Avocados 
Lime
Cherry Tomatoes 
Mozzarella Cheese
Brown Rice
  • Start by cooking your brown rice 
  • Heat up a pan and add butter
  • Dice the red onion 
  • Add half of a red onion to the pan and save the other half for topping (if you like it)
  • Fry the onion until it becomes translucent 
  • Add 2 minced garlic cloves to the pan and cook until browned
  • Add the drained/washed black beans to the pan 
  • Toss the beans to incorporate all of the ingredients 
  • Cover the beans with water, stir occasionally until the water has almost boiled away and you have a consistency like photo 4 above
  • Use a potato masher to mash the black beans with some sour cream, some parmesan, some butter and season to your desired taste
  • Mash the Avocados and add the juice of half of a lime to taste

Add the black bean dip, avocado dip, cherry tomatoes, rice and mozzarella to your bowl and you have a delicious dinner, perfect for all of the family!

Cotton Wool painting is something really random that both my 3 year old and 18 month old love every time we do it. 

Just take some pegs and cotton wool and let them have a play!
